His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the
Makkah Region, received today at the Makkah Principality building in Jeddah the
Chairman of the Board of Trustees of King Abdulaziz University, Prof. AbdulFattah
bin Suleiman Mashat, along with the University President, Dr. Tareef bin Youssef
Alaama, accompanied by several members of the university’s leadership.

At the outset of the meeting, HRH commended the university’s ongoing academic
and educational efforts, emphasizing the importance of aligning educational
outcomes with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 to better serve the nation and its
citizens.

HRH was briefed on the university’s recent accomplishments and major events,
including the TED KAU initiative held in collaboration with the General Authority for
Awqaf (Endowments), the Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Saudi Universities
Conference, the Third KAU Student Film Festival, and the international symposium
titled “The Bravery of Arabic: Scientific and Epistemological Approaches.”

The meeting also highlighted the cooperation agreement signed between the Ministry
of Industry and Mineral Resources and the university in the fields of geosciences and
mining. HRH also reviewed the university’s future plans and development projects,
including the upcoming women’s sports dome, the enhancement of the Innovation
and Entrepreneurship Zone at Wadi Jeddah Company, and the latest updates
regarding the Rabigh campus.
